Web and marketing support adds up for North East accountancy firm

One Two One Accounts, based in the picturesque Seaton Delaval, are the nifty number specialists supporting SMEs and sole traders across the North East. From crunching figures to demystifying tax returns, they’re the trusted hand you want in your financial pocket. With this team on your side, you probably won’t even need a calculator.

The challenge: counting on a creative comeback

When One Two One Accounts first approached us for marketing support, they were looking for a bit of a profile boost. Beyond that, their existing website was in need of some serious love. Think text-heavy, image-light, and lacking in distinct visual flourishes.

In short, they needed to raise their game, showcase their personality, and generally make a bigger, brighter splash in the North East business pond.

I felt like our website and branding needed a refresh. Having built a nice working relationship with TVG over a period of years, I had no hesitation trusting them with the task of refreshing the look and feel of the website.

So, what exactly did we do?

We fired up our notoriously temperamental coffee machine, sharpened our pencils, and set about transforming their online presence.

From a marketing refresh to a brand-spanking-new website, we made sure One Two One Accounts would stand out from the crowd – and not just for their dazzling abacus skills.

Marketing: balancing books, building brilliance

Our marketing magic worked wonders long before the new website was even in the oven. The first port of call was getting stuck into crafting winning award entries, helping the team get shortlisted for the prestigious North East Accountancy Awards.

Beyond that, social media posts targeted at their primarily SME audience kept them in the loop with all the latest accountancy updates, while we also shone a spotlight on their admirable CSR efforts, like sponsoring local sports teams. Video content, featuring friendly faces from the team sharing quick bites of advice, rounded out the offering rather nicely.

We also tackled keyword-rich blog posts, explaining everything from the mysteries of self-assessment tax returns to the joys of bookkeeping outsourcing. And of course, we helped them network their socks off at events like our admittedly brilliant Curry in the City and Cuisine at the Coast.

From marketing momentum to a brand-new build

Having established such a cracking rapport with One Two One Accounts through our ongoing marketing support, the relationship quickly evolved into a true partnership.

Things were going so well, in fact, that it became clear the next logical step was to invest in something bigger, more cohesive, and truly transformational – an entirely new website built from the ground up.

This fresh build would bring all aspects of their online presence in line with their growing brand identity and expanding service offerings, truly reflecting the vibrant and personable team they are.

Web development: showing off the faces behind the figures

The One Two One team asked for a website that was friendly and less corporate, and we delivered. Our mission was to create something that felt less like a stuffy bank and more like an inviting space jam-packed with insightful advice. We steered clear of typical industry stock photos and instead showed off the rugged charm of their Seaton Delaval homeland.

While the existing One Two One Accounts logo was already a winner, we jazzed things up with new elements like a playful purple swirl and illustrative touches that could also be used to develop future website features. Presenting a mountain of valuable text in a user-friendly way was key, so we focused on digestible chunks and clear navigation.

Plus, we peppered the site with photos of their exceedingly bright team to give it that genuinely personable feel. And yes, we gave their trusty office dog Amber a starring role on their new video-based hero banner, because she fully deserves to be seen and adored.

The sum total of shared success

From a marketing client that needed to find their voice to a confident web and marketing powerhouse, One Two One Accounts’ journey with TVG has been anything but boring.

We’ve helped them not just balance the books, but also balance their brand, elevate their online presence, and truly connect with their target audience. It just goes to show, with the right approach and a strong, collaborative partnership, even numbers can be fun!

They listened to my ideas and implemented them as I asked while also providing valuable input and ideas into the project. Everything was provided on time and I am extremely happy with how the website now looks and feels.
