Team Valley Group’s festive fundraiser for Neuroblastoma UK

Published 20th December 2022 | Community, News

In the lead-up to Christmas, we ran our annual festive fundraiser for Neuroblastoma UK, a charity dedicated to finding a cure for the rare childhood disease.

Every year, around 100 children in the UK are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that mostly affects babies and young children.

For the past 10 years, Team Valley Group has provided hundreds of children across the region with a personalised letter from Santa to raise money for the cause. Thanks to this, we have been able to donate a considerable sum of money to Neuroblastoma UK.

David Auton, Director at Team Valley Group, said:

“I first got involved in supporting families who had children with Neuroblastoma after a good friend’s son developed this awful disease. The prognosis of a child with Neuroblastoma is poor and the families have to go through so much trauma, with a huge amount of uncertainty that lies ahead.

“With the amazing work of Neuroblastina UK, hopefully, further research and development can be done to ensure children don’t have to deal with such invasive treatment.”

The charity is able to continue to fund vital research into improving treatment for children suffering from the disease, thanks to individual donations and fundraisers carried out by companies across the country.

Since 1982, they have invested over £9 million in research projects, have awarded 85 grants, and supported the investigations of 19 research institutions across the UK.

However, more money is desperately needed to make breakthroughs in treating and diagnosing this cancer.
